Ironclad Sisterhood is a volunteer-run digital public history project, focused on bringing Jess Hill’s original research on convict women in New South Wales to a broader audience. We hope to build a collaborative community space where research and work on these indomitable women can flourish.
All members of the Ironclad Sisterhood team have freely given their time and experience to the development of the website and its many parts, except for Alexandra Mountain, as the project lead and Archives Manager for the Society of Australian Genealogists. Andrew Redfern, a Society member, is our project manager and digital specialist. Georgia Charlier, Alexandra Scouller, and Christina Wisniewski were Macquarie University students who started on the project as part of their required coursework for the Cultural Heritage and Public History class, but have continued on long past the semester ended.
